2nd day in Beijing,

This week I write my second day in Beijing. in my Silk Road journey. I’m writing this article from Washington DC. I meet many interesting people in all over the US in this vacation.

Oct. 29. 2010

Two days have passed in Beijing. I have been meeting people and seeing a number of people I have never seen. Right before the day of my departure from Osaka, my parents especially my mom actually tried to stop Chuji leaving for China. Japanese and Chinese government are currently in some complicating issues such as historical understanding, territorial arguments, and economic treats. These issues incurred demonstrations of Chinese people in this month. I know these are just political games. Nether of politicians seriously thinks about own people, so nothing is so much serious problem between us. Yet I understand that my mom worries about her lovely son leaving for the opponent on the TV.

It’s more than I thought, Chinese people are so nice, and I’ve never felt any anti-Japanese behavior from them. Yes, this is much more comfortable than I thought. So enjoyable.

My Chinese friend I met up in Beijing said that people in Beijing even don’t know the fact of the current demonstrations against my country. She told me that any demonstration in China is prohibited. Here Beijing where people and enthusiasm cross is a very attractive city for me. I might rather prefer to live in this city rather than Osaka where I’m from (Maybe it’s because I don’t have much experiences?)

People’s public behavior is incredibly questionable, but direct communications with people teach me that there is no difference in our minds.

People you think they are not good might be because you don’t know much about them yet, or you have an wrong information form media and others. This is what I thought today.

Both Chinese foods and girls are so hot. This is what I’m thinking since ever I got into China.

the Great story begun from Beijing.

I'm writing my story in the SIlk Road journey. This isOct, 2010. 1st day in my Silk Road travel. (Dear my friends who met Chuji in the Silk Road travel. Please keep being on the blog so you can see the story of you and Chuji on the Blog)

My air plane arrived at Beijing 30minuets later than scheduled. Actually I already had a million of troubles in my first day. I’m trying to write it as simple as possible because I’m so exhausted now.

After arrive at the airport, I got a bus by asking so many Chinese people which bus I should take. This bus would probably go to my direction which is my friend’s apartment. A little bit chilly air, the sunlight in the evening was nice. That was what I was thinking while I was waiting for the departure of my bus. Until this point when I got the bus, that was a nice travel. Nothing was problem. I never expected that many problems are waiting for me.

I was an only passenger when the bus's departure. But I totally forgot China has the biggest population in the World, and Beijing is the capital city. Just stopping by a couple of stops the bus was more than full of people, and the road was more than full of cars. I was stuck in too crowded bus which is stuck on the crowded road. “What the heck is the traffic system. It doesn’t happen Japan!!” I was saying by myself, and certainly noticed. Yes, I knew the address of the apartment, yet I didn’t know which bus stop I have to get off. “OMG!! Should I ask the guy in front of me? the bus driver? But I can speak no Chinese!!” Except the memo in my hand, there was no idea for me to arrive my friend!! “Okay, Chuji. Go for it. Are you thinking whether you go or no? Then just go for it.” Another Chuji said that in my mind. I just got off the bus by intuition. I somehow liked myself who says “shey shey” (Thank you in Chinese) to the bus drive although I had no idea if the stop is correct or not.

I remember there was an university where I got off the bus. The air was crowded, and many cars run the huge road. That was just a beginning of my heck. I asked the direction so many people in a long time. Chinese-Chinese-Ugandan-Russian-Chinese. I walked in crowded roads for more than 3 hours. My back was as big as myself. My sneakers were $15, and what you feel at the moment you wear them is "Oh, it's sandals. I'm just tired.

But the people who tried to direct me was really kind and warm, I was busy to give them my name cards to introduce myself as well as understand what they say. In this two days, I will prepare some tools for my journeys such as new sneakers (of course better ones than now!!), and some outfits for cold weather in the Silk Road.

The choice I made was not correct, but I think I was right. When you can’t decide whether to go, just go for it. This will be the rule of my decision making in my whole travel until Istanbul. Also people would help me at the end.

That’s what I learned from my first day in the Silk Road.

Two sides of the same coin,

My first term is almost ending. It's passed 2 months since I arrived in Plymouth, NH. This means that  2 months are passed since I begun constantly writing this Blog. My first article was read by only one viewer. But thankfully this blog is viewed by many people now. I have to appreciate you to read my broken English.

What I like writing this blog more than my Japanese one is that I can check it from which countries this blog was reached as well as the number of the viewers. Many friends from all over the World are checking my days. "Oh, this viewer from Russia must be them. Tanzania is him. India? oh yea he is there now".  And sometime the countries are where I've never been nor I have no idea who they are. It's so fun to check how I manage this Blog universally.

Reason why I launched this blog was that I wanted to broadcast what goes on in my Silk Road journey, but that challenge was too busy because my Japanese blog was priority since I got much donations from Japanese people and corporations for the travel expenses, and sometime too dangerous opening my laptop... But yes, I think I now would like to write my attempts in English. This challenge was much more fun and interesting than the numbers I'm learning at the MBA, and I'm sure my experiences from the Silk Road are the asset of my life. I will write them chronologically from the starting in China, and ending in Turkey. I write the answer I got from the journey on this article today.

"I will see and find an answer how I can resolve the complicated matters in the World". I was expecting so much like what I see and how I perform against the matters. Yet what I think after the journey is that there are the same number of answers with people. I just found there are 70 billions answers in this World. I saw many political conflicts, economic poorness, culture (history) conflicts, and discrimination. These negative ideas come from people. Positive ideas such as happiness, love, future expectations, enthusiasm also come from same hearts. Someone's happiness is someone's tears. Someone's teas is someone's money. Someone's money is someone's problem. Someone's problem is someone's business.. I couldn't even found what the problems in the World are, but I found that even a little child or poor people have their own perspectives which are as important as mine. Therefore, having the perspectives of others is a key.

Things I wrote is really easy. I assume many people thought "I already know!!", but just knowing is not enough. Once you experienced, you would learn how things in the World are complicating, but seeing the World from a perspective of someone you met in the other side of the World is incredibly important. This is beautiful.

I hate myself to write the unorganized English writing. Sorry, but I tried to put my best English to express my experiences.

"There are 70 billions worlds in the World"
"The key is to have perspectives of others."

These are what I wanted to write.
These are what I still believe."
